Judy's Book

In September 2003, Judy and Dan Gordon were enjoying their middle-aged lives, comfortably settled in their work, their home, and their interests. They were enjoying their children and grandchildren as well as their own good health. A month later, Judy was diagnosed with breast cancer, sending them off on an uncertain and unwelcome journey.

Judy and Dan share their experiences in The Heroics of Falling Apart: One Couple’s Breast Cancer Journey, each in their own voice. It is the first such memoir written by a couple – a very sweet duet.

SWEET NEWS: The Heroics of Falling Apart won top award at the Colorado Independent Publishers Association's 2008 EVVY Award Ceremony -- First Place in the Autobiography/Memoir category and top point-earner of all entries in the 17-category competition.

“Many books have been written by breast cancer patients, describing their journey. But few have been written by the partners ‘in the trenches.’ This book combines insights, traumas, and humor from a husband and wife team – caretaker and patient – who confront the devastating disease from two different emotional perspectives, yet learn to work together and better understand each other through their wrenching journey to health. A must read for patients, for caretakers, and all who love them!”
Dottie Lamm, Former First Lady of Colorado and, 25-Year Breast Cancer Survivor
